Take for example Botswana, a country located in south-west Africa, recently lifted the ban on elephant hunting in order to reduce the elephant population because of the conflicts with nearby villagers. This ban has brought worldwide attention to Botswana and research has surfaced revealing that poaching in Botswana increased by nearly 600% from 2014 long before the ban.
